Friday Night Dinner

In the spirit of the evening, it is written that one should partake in fish, chicken and foods that bring joy. The traditional Shabbat dinner meal in most Jewish homes consists of
1st Course: fish - most commonly gefilte fish with chrain (horseradish)
2nd Course: chicken soup - sometimes made with Kneidelach (matzah balls)
Main Meal: kugels, meat (chicken or brisket), and tzimmis (sweet potatoes and carrots cooked in brown sugar)
